Raptor 3 is SpaceX's third-generation full-flow staged-combustion engine: liquid oxygen and methane, 280 tf and 350 s at sea level, 1,525 kg (1,720 kg with the vehicle-side commodities and hardware), all from SpaceX's 2024 figures; the 350 bar chamber pressure is as reported by Elon Musk, not an official spec. Most of the plumbing and wiring that hung outside Raptor 2 now runs inside the castings, so it needs no heat shield. Every drop of oxygen passes through an oxygen-rich preburner that spins the oxygen pump, and every drop of methane through a fuel-rich preburner that spins the methane pump; the two hot gases meet in the main chamber, which has no igniter of its own. The load cell above the gimbal reads the thrust while it burns. The sound is synthesised in your browser from the same chamber-pressure model that drives the flame, not a recording, and plays only for burns you start.
